Romanian film evenings at the Athenaeum

“Romanian Film Evenings at the Athenaeum ” is a film project through which the interested public will watch short / medium-length films and documentaries

The film screenings will take place in the Art Galleries “Ateneul Tătăraşi” every Wednesday starting with 18 00 between September 21 and November 23, 2011. The screenings will be followed by discussions and debates on film topics. Admission is free within the available seats, the capacity of the room is 40-50 people.

We start on September 21, 2011 with the short films of Iustin ŞURPĂNELU: Experiment , When you speak alone .

Films of young Romanian directors will be presented: Iustin ŞURPĂNELU (September 21), George GOGA AGADJĂNEAN (September 28), Manuela MORAR, Cristi TOPORAN (October 5), Ilinca V. CIOBANU, Adina PINTILIE, Cătălin MUŞAT (October 19), Răzvan SĂVESCU, Gabriel SÂRBU (October 26), Iosif PRODAN (November 2), Dorian BOGUŢĂ, Emanuel PÂRVU, Ciprian ALEXANDRESCU (November 9), Serge ZĂNOAGĂ, Mihai TOMESCU, Viorel MARDARE (November 16) and lukaraluka (November 23) .

Among the guests present at the “Romanian Film Evenings at the Athenaeum ” are the directors from Iași: Iustin ŞURPĂNELU (September 21), Dan MOISII and Octavian STOICA – organizers of FILMSTUD (October 12), Iosif PRODAN (November 2) and lukaraluka (November 23) . The project is organized by the Tatarasi Athenaeum in collaboration with Ana Chiricescu.

“Through this cultural project we aim to bring young people closer to cinema, to rekindle their love for the 7th art and to promote Romanian short / medium film, as well as documentary film.”

Director of the Tătăraşi Athenaeum, Dr. Liviu Brătescu
